Title

It's always something to come up with a name.  I would have named it A Wee Dram, with only two e's but the web address wasn't available.  I like the title and it fits because I've heard the term a dozen times or so by now so I made it work.  Speaking of, we have had a wee dram today and to be totally honest, I'm not a fan.  Whiskey is really something I feel you either build a tolerance for or were born to.  I am neither of those categories...yet.  I may yet build a tolerance.  But I'm jumping ahead of myself.

Although British Airways sucks and steals your money, they have a great overnight flight to London from San Diego.  And if you're smart, you'd board, take an ambien, tell them to wake you with 40 minutes left and go to sleep.  I opted for going to bed at midnight and having them wake me early. It's a mistake.  I was dead asleep and she was shaking me to wake up 4:45 minutes after I fell asleep so I could eat breakfast.  Who the hell is hungry when they just wake up? Surely not me.  I sat there shell shocked, dizzy, exhausted, wondering how I got where I was just staring at my food.  I was living that meme with the fox sitting on the side of the bed after daylight savings time change. Google it if you don't know what I'm talking about.  It was totally me and it was ridiculous.  Next time, IF there's a next time with BA, will be different.  We had a quick layover in BA terms, 2.5 hours.  They put a "short transfer" ticket on our bags because apparently at Heathrow, that's not enough time to transfer bags.  It ended up being fine, we and our bags arrived to an overcast, rainy day.  Funny because everyone we talked to said to be prepared for rain even if it's not predicted.  So we were.  Quick taxi ride into town, checked into our hotel called The Fraser Suites, and off we went.  I had done a bunch of research to find a good place to stay but I have to say, this play is even more than I expected.  It's super close to everything and a fantastic, large suite with great views to boot.

After unpacking, we headed out to just wander and kind of get a feel for where we were.  We decided to pop into a pub that looked darling and get a beer.  We ended up chatting with a local who was sitting there. He was super sweet and suggested a few places for us over the next few day.  The bartender was great and let us sample a bunch of Ales to see which we preferred and explained all about what was on tap.  The local guy was telling us about his trip to America.  He said he loves how we just have one term that covers everything.  Beer is pretty much anything resembling beer.  We don't distinguish between Pilsners, Ales, Stouts, etc.  We just say, we'd like to have pizza and a beer and that can mean any of the above.  Apparently here you distinguish.  The other tidbit of American culture was, All Set.  You're enjoying your meal so you're "all set", you paid your bill so you're "all set", you're boarding a plane and have all the docs so you're "all set",  someone can ask if you're "all set" if you're done eating.  The list went on and on.  I laughed because it's so true now that I think about it.  We heard the bartender telling some people who wanted food where a few local places nearby were still serving.  It was pretty late, 10:30ish and everyone stops serving around 9pm.  I guess there are only a few with food late.  We followed his advice and had the best hamburger and french fries in this really rad restaurant.  We walked back here and fell into bed.  I was sooo tired and yet only slept a few hours.  You know the drill by now.  Need ambien night one.  But I learn from my mistakes so definitely taking tonight.  Speaking of, I can barely keep my eyes open.  We hit the ground running today and didn't stop.  We walked almost 7 miles and just kept going and going. Walt is already passed out next to me.  I'll catch up for today, tomorrow. Oh and have I mentioned it's cold?  It's like a crazy cold, chilled down to your bone even though it says it's only in the mid 40s kinda cold.  Even Walt is cold so you know it's bad.

God bless him, he tries.  Where's the rest of the word?  TURN THE PHONE SIDEWAYS.
